Robert (Rab) Landells and Trevel Henry To Be The New Owners of NFPS Ltd.
As from the 31st December this year Deborah and myself will be stepping down as directors of NFPS Ltd.
The company (NFPS Ltd) will be taken over by Robert (Rab) Landells and Trevel Henry and will continue to operate as normal with me in the background so nothing will change.
And just to clarify a point, I am stepping down – not dying (not yet anyway) – so I will still be available for those of you who want to contact me for advice, guidance, etc.
Now I know that I have been talking about ‘retiring’ for many years now and I know that you may be saying to yourself “he’ll never retire”, but it is happening at the end of this year.
And the reason we haven’t retired to date is because we love doing what we do.
We love meeting new people and making new friends and catching up with old friends at refreshers each year.
That is why we haven’t been able to step down, until now.
Why Am I Stepping Down?
The reason we (Deborah and I) haven’t stepped down to date is a simple one.
As many of you will know, I had a heart attack three years ago.
After the heart attack both Deborah and I started to reflect on what would have happened if I hadn’t survived the heart attack and also what would happen if I had another one that either incapacitated me or finished me off for good.
The one thing we both knew was that if one of us passed, especially me, the company would close down.
The result of that would be that so many good people who had invested in training with us and who depended on us would suddenly be left ‘high and dry’.
So the contingency was born that we needed to have a plan for such eventualities (and for those of you who know me you know I like a good plan!).
The bottom line was that you were at the forefront of this plan.
We didn’t want anyone left ‘high and dry’.
However we wouldn’t and couldn’t leave the business until we knew it would be in safe hands and that you would be looked after by the new owners of the business.
Our primary concern was you and everyone who has trained with us and who became part of the NFPS family over the many years that Deborah and I have been running the business.
That has and is our primary concern.
The Business Is In Safe Hands
Now that Rab and Trevel have agreed to take over the business we can step down in the knowledge that NFPS Ltd will be in safe hands.
Rab and Trevel are definitely the right people to not only take NFPS over but to move it forward and inject new ideas into the business.
Their knowledge, skills, experience and values (honesty, integrity, trust, loyalty and honour) combined with their business acumen is exactly what is needed to maintain the high standards of excellence we have always strived to deliver for you, which enables them and the company to continue to serve you at the highest level that you rightly deserve.
And most importantly of all, the business will continue to be there to serve you.
The ‘Rumour’ Mill
Now, I have heard that there have been some rumours that NFPS is closing/shutting down and some people have been worrying about it but this is 100% absolutely not the case.
As Mark Twain once said – “The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.”
The business (NFPS Ltd) is very much alive and well and not going anywhere and with Rab and Trevel at the helm it will continue for many years to come.
As we prepare to step down Deborah and I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all of you who have been a part of our lives over the last three decades.
The NFPS Family
I know it sounds like a cliche but NFPS Ltd hasn’t just been a business. It has been and still is, a family.
It has been an honour and a privilege to have served you for so long but the fact is nothing can last forever. Everything is impermanent. Everything changes. And now it’s time for all of us, including you to embrace that change and welcome Rab and Trevel as the new owners of NFPS Ltd from the end of this year.
Impermanence – Nothing Last Forever
And because of impermanence, everything is possible as the late, great Zen Buddhist Master, Thich Nhat Hanh states:
“Thanks to impermanence, everything is possible. Life itself is possible. If a grain of corn is not impermanent, it can never be transformed into a stalk of corn. If the stalk were not impermanent, it could never provide us with the ear of corn we eat.” – Thich Nhat Hanh, No Death, No Fear
Therefore, this is a new and exciting time for you and for NFPS Ltd.
There are new opportunities for change, innovation, transformation, leadership, expansion and growth.
And Deborah and I are grateful that Rab and Trevel have decided to accept our offer of breathing new life into NFPS Ltd and leading it into the future.
We hope that you will embrace this change and give Rab and Trevel your love and support as they take over the helm of NFPS Ltd and lead it into the future.
