Why Ukraine Will Win The War
I’ve recently been re-reading one of my favourite books, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.
In this book, based on over 20 years of research and interviews with hundreds of the worlds most successful people Hill reveals the secret to their success that was taught to them by Andrew Carnegie who, at the time, was one of the richest men in the world.
Having watched the conflict in Ukraine and particularly the leadership by the Ukrainian President; Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the resolve and compassion of the Ukrainian people, I can see the same secret to their undeniable success as was taught by Andrew Carnegie that Hill writes about in his book.
Firstly, Hill writes that to be successful you MUST “KNOW WHAT YOU WANT”. The Ukrainian people are truly demonstrating that. They want to win. They are ‘SUCCESS CONSCIOUS’ and are not even entertaining failure.
They have the DETERMINATION to achieve WHAT THEY WANT and a BURNING DESIRE to see that realised fuelled by A DEFINITENESS OF PURPOSE to achieve it.
This is why Ukraine will win.
For those of us who want to help but don’t know how to you can do one thing that WILL help. Adopt the same success mindset for Ukraine that the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and all of the Ukrainian people have because research has shown time and time again that when a collective of people all focus on the same desired outcome it makes the realisation of that ideal all the more real.
Don’t just have empathy with the UKrainian people have compassion.
A key difference between empathy and compassion is that while empathy is simply experiencing another’s emotion, compassion is a more empowered state where we want what is best for the other person. As the Dalai Lama has described it: “If we see a person who is being crushed by a rock, the goal is not to get under the rock and feel what they are feeling; it is to help remove the rock“.
You can help by adopting a positive compassionate-success mindset for Ukraine. Anyone and everyone can do that one thing.
