It’s not every day that a Machine Gun Preacher comes to town!

Now the real Machine Gun Preacher (not the Hollywood star Gerard Butler) is coming to Hayling Island on the 16th April 2019 to share his story and his journey with you about his mission and his work rescuing vulnerable children.

This is the journey that took him to Sudan to rescue child soldiers from rebel armies.

To date, he has rescued over 1500 children and as a result of his selfless work in 2013 he received the Mother Teresa Award for International Social Justice (the largest award of its type in the world for International Social Justice), and to date he is the only American ever to be bestowed with that honour.

This is the same honour that the Dalai Lama and UK House of Lords rep, Baroness Caroline Cox were also bestowed with in previous years.

Sam’s story is one that will inspire and motivate you – from being a scum of the earth drug dealer/user and all-around gun-toting thug… to becoming a saviour to thousands of South Sudanese and Northern Ugandan children.

The Film – ‘The Machine Gun Preacher’

In 2011 the film ‘Machine Gun Preacher’, which is a 2011 biographical adventure drama about Sam Childers, a former gang biker turned preacher and defender of South Sudanese orphans.

The movie was based on Childers’ book Another Man’s War and stars Gerard Butler, Michelle Monaghan and Michael Shannon, and you can watch the trailer below.

Sam is also speaking at other locations around the UK and you can see his tour schedule on this website here: should you have friends around the UK who would like to see Sam speak.
