Conflict Resolution Training: A Week in the Life at NFPS Ltd

Last week reminded me why we are so passionate about our work at NFPS Ltd. Every day, we strengthen standards in conflict resolution training and physical intervention, especially for professionals in schools, healthcare, and care settings.

Preparing for Expert Witness Work

I spent part of the week preparing for a court case where I will act as an Expert Witness on the Use of Force.

This work involves reviewing evidence and offering expert advice.

It reinforces the importance of our BTEC Level 3 Physical Intervention Trainer Award Course and Handcuff Trainer Course.

These courses equip staff with practical skills and the legal knowledge they need. To explore these programmes, visit our NFPS Ltd home page.

Meeting Policymakers on School Safety

Midweek, I met a Scottish MP to discuss rising violence in schools.

It was a constructive and encouraging conversation.

We agreed that safety, wellbeing, and dignity must become part of both policy and everyday practice.

We also explored trauma-informed approaches and early intervention.

This is where NFPS Ltd leads the way.

Our BTEC Level 3 Self-Defence Trainer Award Course gives professionals the tools to create safer environments.

Learn more about this on our self-defence trainer training page.

Supporting Young People Through STEM

Beyond training and policy, I am committed to creating opportunities for young people.

Together with colleagues, I worked on expanding the Why Not You? STEM project.

This inspiring initiative helps students—especially those from underrepresented backgrounds—explore careers in science, tech, engineering, and maths. It encourages them to believe in their own potential.

Action, Collaboration, and Purpose

It has been a week full of action and purpose.

From shaping policy to training educators and inspiring youth, everything we do is driven by one belief: everyone deserves to feel safe, supported, and seen.

At NFPS Ltd, we are proud to offer a wide range of accredited courses.

These include the BTEC Level 3 Self-Defence Trainer Award Course, BTEC Level 3 Physical Intervention Trainer Award Course, and Handcuff Trainer Course. These programmes help professionals across the UK handle conflict safely and confidently.
