How Many Legs Does A Dog Have?
Now that might seem like a strange question, but it reflects what’s been happening in our industry sector for some time now.
I come across people now who say: “we don’t use restraint, we use rescue techniques”.
“We don’t do restraint, we do safe holding .”
“We don’t use basket-holds. We use a child-safe wrap.”
People and organisations are changing names of techniques to give the (false) impression that what they are doing is in some way not what they are doing (if that makes sense).
Why can’t we all just be honest about what we teach?
By the way, you’ll never see a statue to a committee!
